This is a touching documentary about how being a Jew got them into trouble and into a death camp, but being a dwarf saved them at a high price. Imagine being experimented on and then forgiving the man who did that cruel experimentation. Isn’t that amazing? Imagine having to act and be happy to entertain Nazi’s in a bizarre music and theatrical production.

I watched this video on Netflix but you can also go to the link above and watch it in other formats and places as well. The Smithsonian has even better documentaries than PBS. What is amazing is that you don’t feel that the documentary is a way to manipulate your opinion, but honestly exploring the issue. I like how honest they feel.

I have been watching documentaries on WWII and some of them are too painful to watch. It really makes you question why people hurt others. Yes I know that it is because they are hurt, but more importantly why can some people like the Ovitz forgive those who hurt them and others can’t? Why do the best people always seem to be those who have suffered the most?
